HALLOWEEN CELEBRATION PICTURES

Here you are some of the pictures taken in our Halloween celebration. We learnt a bit more about the origin and history of this mainly American festivity and also our PE teacher, Jaime, who lived in the US for some time, told us how he celebrated it there and the funny tricks he and his friends thought of in order to scare people.  It was great fun!!

CINECLUB: SHREK

Welcome to the English Corner! We are back to work after the summer holidays, and to start the school year with a smile we have selected the big animation comedy SHREK. 
The projection will be on OCTOBER 28th at 5 pm in room A027 . The protagonist is not Prince Charming but a smelly grumpy ogre who will live lots of adventures. Don't miss it, after seeing this film, fairy tales won't just be the same for you!

FILM: THE BOOK THIEF

 The famous 2013 war drama starring Geoffery Rush, Emily Watson, and Sophie Nélisse will be projected at school on MAY 13th. A touching movie set in the Nazi era, difficult times for everybody in the small German village where the 9-year-old girl Liesel goes to live after being given to a foster family. Liesel and the other children won't understand most of the events that are happening around them.

El periodo nazi en Alemania visto desde los ojos de una niña de 9 años, además de una emotiva película que hace que el espectador se plantee muchas cosas. Basada en la novela del mismo título de Markus Zusak, fue nominada en varias categorías a los oscars del 2013.

Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy this interesting film!

SAINT PATRICK'S DAY

March 17th,  Saint Patrick's Day at IES LUIS DE LUCENA  : Come to A027 at break time and find out the activities we have prepared for this Irish celebration. Don't forget to wear something green!!!

CINECLUB: THE ADVENTURES OF TIN TIN

The intrepid young reporter Tin Tin is one of the best-kown comic series charaters in history. It was created by the Belgian cartoonist Hergé in1930 and in 2011 the great director Steven Spielberg and the producer Peter Jackson released a 3D computer animated version which got excellent reviews. 

The film is based on three comic books being the main one "The Secret of the Unicorn". In this adventure Tin Tin along with his faithful dog Snowy, Captain Haddock and the twin detectives Thompson and Thompson will solve a mystery invoving a pirate ship treasure and they will defeat a wicked villain. Dont miss it or you regret it!!

THE BIG CHALLENGE

 The registration period for the quiz has been opened. Tell your teacher if you are intested in taking part before January 28th. This year there will be lots of prizes and you can download the new mobile phone application for android devices. You can also play the Yes/ No Game to revise the new vocabulary. Registration fee is 3.5 euros. Start training now for 2015 edition to be held on May 12th. Good luck to everybody!!

Ha comenzado el periodo de inscripción para el concurso. Si estás interesado en participar díselo a tu profesor de inglés antes del 28 de enero. Este año hay montones de premios y además te puedes descargar la aplicación para móviles en android. También puedes jugas al nuevo juego de revisión de vocabulario. La tasa de inscripción es de 3.5 euros. Comienza ya a practicar para la edición de 2015 que se celebrará el 12 de mayo. ¡Buena suerte a todos!
