HALLOWEEN HOLD-UP

Here you are a video of the scary situation we lived in the last Halloween celebration at IES LUIS DE LUCENA. A surprising hold-up took place while we were listening to our P. E. teacher, Jaime, telling us about Halloween.

Thank God, it was a Halloween prank carried out by the students of 2nd of Bachillerato and in the end all of us had fun with it. :)

 These are some pictures of the students that stayed at school after the lessons to see the projection of BRAVE.  After the projection of the film, Mica, our canteen tender, offered us a snack which was greatly enjoyed by all the students. We would like to thank her that nice offering.

HALLOWEEN CELEBRATION

Halloween is the Night of Fright.

Fear is what this night brings,

Along with many other things.

Halloween is back at Luis de Lucena school. This time, our P. E. teacher, Jaime, will tell us a  terrifying horror story and will explain to us how he used to  celebrate it in the United States while he was living there.

CINECLUB: BRAVE (Indomable)

  Welcome to school again!  After the summer holidays, we resume our activities.

 So, we will open our cinema season travelling to Scotland in medieval times.  We will project the Disney animation film BRAVE. It tells the story of Merida, a girl that won't follow the rules established for women in Scottish clans.

BACK FROM DUBLIN

 Back from Dublin, after one week of lessons on the English language and Irish culture, sightseeing around the main landmarks of the city, enjoying the Irish hospitality of the host families and having fun with our friends in an English-speaking context.  The perfect ending for an intense school year full of activities to improve our English.

Thanks to all the participant students for their good attitude and behaviour and also thanks to the accompanying teachers who made this stay possible and helped me so much in the trip organization and development: Amelia  Ortega and José Sardaña.

With the most representative pictures of our nice trip in the green and grey Ireland, I wish you all the best summer holidays . Enjoy them and have your deserved rest to come back fresh in September to continue improving your English.

GOODBYE TO OUR DEAR ALLISSA

Allissa Bangalao,  our language assistant, has finished her work in our school  today, May 30th. All the students and teachers she has been working with organised 

a goodbye ceremony to show her our gratitude and to wish her the best for the  future. 

Allissa  got really surprised with the gifts and surprises our students gave her and it was difficult for her not to shed some tears. Every class she has been working with gave her a gift and a thank you speech on behalf of all the classmates. 

From this blog, we want to wish Allissa all the best and tell her that the students and teachers in this school won't forget her kindness, good attitude and hard work. We will never forget the sweet smile you brought to school every day.

 Goodbye and all the very best!!!  ¡Hasta siempre, Allissa! 

CINECLUB: THE KING'S SPEECH

 

On the occasion of the new king's coronation in May 2023, our cineclub will project the film THE KING'S SPEECH. Based on the true story of king George VI, the grandfather of the future king Charles III, we will learn how George VI became the king of the United Kingdom in spite of his stammering and his low self-esteem.
