BURLINGTON CULTURAL LESSONS

One more year our school could enjoy the cultural sessions organised by Burlington Books.

Our old friend Nick came to tell the students from 2nd ESO to 2nd Bachillerato lots of interesting facts about the English-speaking countries. The students of 4th ESO Bilingual group learnt about London, the students of 3rd ESO Bilingual group about Ireland and the students of 2nd ESO bilingual group about the English-speaking countries in general. 

Thanks to Nick and Burlington Books for these interesting sessions in which our students had the the opportunity to practise their English in a real, interactive and funny way.  Nick was even hilarious sometimes. We hope to see him next year and call ther mum in the Who Wants To Be a Millionaire contest!!

CINECLUB: WONDER

        Welcome back to our school activities!! Ready to see films in English again?

  We resume our "cineclub"  with the projection of WONDER. The story of a teenager who has to face his own fears when starting Middle School. Is it familiar for you? Absolutely! However, he has some particular issues that make that  life step much more difficult. Would you like to know them? How will he fit in his new school? If you want the answer to these questions, come to the projection on:

WEDNESDAY, 23rd October at 3:00 PM

PICTURES OF THE "CINECLUB" SNACK

Here are the pictures of the snack Mica, our canteen tender, offered the students that came to see the film HERCULES.  We spent a nice afternoon practicing our English, learning about Greek mythology and Hercules' twelve labors and having a piece of cake and a drink while chatting with our schoolmates. Thanks again to Mica for making an educational activity also a social activity.

 Have you heard of Hercules' twelve labours? And of the Nemean lion?   What is a satyr? Who is Hades?  And Pegasus?

If you want to have an answer to these questions,

 come to the projection of Disney's film  HERCULES on:

A fun way of learning some Greek mythology mixed up with English, music and fun. It seems the right formula to spend a nice April afternoon , doesn't it? So, don't miss it!!

Bring a sandwich  for lunch and have a picnic with us in the school yard!!

PS: Attendance confirmation by parents is required for younger students.

Come to celebrate Saint Valentine's Day at LUIS DE LUCENA , 

not the usual day but on:

                                            in room A027 AT THE BREAK

Jimena, the new English teacher will explain very curious things about this celebration and there will be  lots of surprises.

CINECLUB: THE BOOK THIEF (La ladrona de libros)

 This famous  war drama starring Geoffery Rush, Emily Watson, and Sophie Nélisse will be projected at school on JANUARY 31st. A touching movie set in the Nazi era, difficult times for everybody in the small German village where the 9-year-old girl Liesel goes to live after being given to a foster family. Liesel and the other children won't understand most of the events that are happening around them. Based on the same title novel by Markus Zusak, it is a great opportunity to understand a tragic and recent period of history.
