CONTEST RULES FOR THE QUESTIONS OF THE FORTNIGHT.

Reglas del concurso.

Contest Rules

1. Todos los alumnos del centro pueden participar individualmente.

2. Al comienzo de cada quincena, se colgarán las preguntas en el tablón The English Corner. Las preguntas se referirán a diferentes materias, como geografía e historia, ciencias, deportes, matemáticas, biología, lengua inglesa, literatura etc. También habrá preguntas de cultura general.

3. Las soluciones se pondrán por escrito en una hoja de papel donde aparezca el NOMBRE del alumno, la CLASE y las RESPUESTAS a las preguntas claramente escritas. Estas hojas se echarán en un buzón que habilitaremos al lado del tablón de anuncios The English Corner.

4. La fecha tope para entregar las respuestas a las preguntas serán al final de cada quincena. Las respuestas entregadas cuando aparezcan colgadas las nuevas preguntas de la quincena no se tendrán en cuenta.

5. Cada quincena las soluciones se colgarán en el tablón de anuncios The English Corner junto con las puntuaciones de los participantes.

6. Si todas las respuestas son correctas, el participante recibirá 1 punto, si hay algún error el participante podrá ganar ½ punto solamente con acertar la mitad de las preguntas correctamente.

7. El concurso terminará a finales de mayo (antes de que empiecen los examines de la 3ª evaluación) . Los concursantes con mayor puntuación acumulada recibirán un premio.
8. Las primeras preguntas de la quincena se publicarán el 2 de marzo

This new contest started on March 2nd, it has been created by Miguel Villegas, the head of the Physics and Chemistry Department and it consists of 10 questions about general knowledge to be published every fortnight .

Este nuevo concurso comenzó el pasado 2 de marzo. Ha sido creado por el jefe del Departamento de Física y Química , Miguel Villegas y consiste en 10 preguntas de cultura general que se publican quincenalmente. DARWIN'S DAY

Did you know that the great English scientist Charles Darwin was born on 12th February 1809?

En efecto, mañana se cumplirá el bicentenario de su nacimiento.

For this reason, the students of Bachillerato are going to have special activities to commemorate it. Among them , the projection of a film in English original version with spanish subtitles.

La película se titula Herencia del viento / Inherit the Wind y cuenta la historia real de un maestro que fue detenido en Tennessee en 1925 por explicar a sus alumnos la teoria de la evolución de Darwin.

The protagonist of the film is Spencer Tracy and it was directed by Stanley Kramer in 1960. The students of 1st year of Bachillerato will see it during tomorrow two last lessons.

Esta actividad ha sido elaborada por los departamentos de Biología y Geología, Filosofía e Inglés, que en sus respectivas materias trataran aspectos significativos de la obra de Darwin.

There will also be an exhibition of science projects done by the students of 4th year of ESO and 1st year of Bachillerato.
